　　antsy: What a good Yankee word！This implies that you are worried that something is not going to happen, and that you want it to happen as soon as possible. So perhaps you have taken all of your exams at college, and are waiting around all summer for your marks to come back to you. You want to know if you have high enough grades to getsintosStanford University, and can't wait for the postman to deliver the letter to you.("坐立不安的"；ant是蚂蚁。中文的"像热锅上的蚂蚁一样"绝配！)

　　用法：I'm getting antsy waiting for my exam marks to arrive in the post. I want to know if Stanford is going to accept my application to study anthropology.

　　等学校寄成绩等得我坐立不安的。我想知道，斯坦福大学会不会录取我读人类学专业。

　　itchy: In this case, it means much the same as "antsy". "To have itchy feet" means that you can't wait for something to happen, such as a holiday or the visit of a good friend. Or if you are forced to stand around waiting for something to happen, rather than making it happen yourself. It means that you want your feet to take you somewhere else.(意思相当于"antsy"。原意为"痒痒的"。痒自然难耐，很形象。)

　　用法：I'm getting itchy feet waiting here at the train station-let's call Alice on her mobile phone and see if she's been delayed somewhere.

　　around the corner: This means that an event is just about to happen, usually with a matter of days, although sometimes it is longer.(近在眼前，就要发生)

　　bleak: In this case, bleak suggests a scenario in which nothing good is happening/is going to happen. It makes you think of a snowy, windswept landscape, devoid of life and very cold. So a bleak outlook for a company would be one with no chance of growth or profit, and even the possibility of bankruptcy. A bleak outlook for a relationship is oneswheresboth people in it can't seem to see eye to eye-that is to understand each other at all.(没有希望的，使人沮丧的，惨淡的)

　　用法：NBC isshavingsa very bad financial year, and I'm afraid the outlook for next year is just as bleak.

　　NBC公司今年财政状况不好，恐怕明年也同样没有什么希望。

　　cheater/cheat:骗子，作弊的人

　　用法：As a cheater on the English exam, Spring won the scholarship that Shirley, the best in the class, was going to get.

　　fail the entire section/year/class: This means that the teacher is going to give each student in the class, or in the year, a fail, rather than a pass mark, which will affect their total exam mark for the year.(给不及格的成绩)

　　If you "rob someone" of something abstract, such as time or emotion, it is almost as bad as robbing them of (or stealing their) money. Very often in relationships, both people end up becoming emotionally dependent on the other person, and ends up robbing them of time and emotion.(抢了某人某种东西，这是比喻的说法)

　　用法：John has robbed me of all emotion, and now I just feel tired, drained and exhausted.
