哲学硕士即MPhil 是国内通常的研究生硕士，需要留校做研究，做课题。时间大概两三年吧。简而言之是学术导向型。
理学硕士即MSc被称为“修课式研究生”，获得学位的要求基本上是就是上课，时间一年。这类学位有为在职人士提供进修的用途，不过说不好听的基本是学历工厂。

MSc in Architectural Conservation and Design
Introduction
Architectural conservation is increasingly an important area of work for architects and architectural conservationists in Hong Kong and the region. With increased awareness of the value of architectural heritage, the society looks to proper and careful interpretation, conservation and reuse of historic buildings in cities and countryside. In Hong Kong, the number of conservation projects, led both by the government and the private sector, has mushroomed over the last 5 years. In this context, the programme places emphasis on professionalism in approaching the conservation of and design with historic buildings, learning from and with international professionals.
The programme will establish educational partnership with leading universities in the world on conservation education, as well as leading institution in China, in teaching and student exchange. MSc in Urban Design
Introduction
Urban design plays a key role in creating livable, sustainable and socially just cities. As one of the most dynamic laboratories for contemporary urbanism, Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta offer a wide range of challenges and opportunities.
