［解题思路］
1）本题考核的知识点是：上下文语意+名词词义辨析。解题的关键只能是根据逻辑语意做出判断。和上题一样，这个空格填入的中心名词同时被growing和child abuse and child neglect修饰，描述导致青少年犯罪的另一种原因。incidence意为“发生范围，影响的程度，发生率”。如：There is ahighincidence ofmalariainthe tropics.在热带地区疟疾发病率很高。用在句中表示“不断增多的虐待儿童事件”，符合文意。

译文
许多研究青少年犯罪（即低龄人群犯罪）的理论都将个人因素或者社会因素作为主要诱因。关注个人原因的理论认为，儿童从事犯罪活动是由于他们以前的不良行为没有受到足够的惩处，或者是由于同别人交往时学会了犯罪。关注社会作用的理论认为，儿童之所以犯罪或是因为他们未能超越自己的社会经济地位，或是由于他们排斥中产阶级的价值观。
大多数青少年犯罪的理论都着重强调这些儿童出自贫穷家庭，而忽略了出生于富裕家庭的儿童也会犯罪的事实。后者由于缺乏足够的父母管教也可能犯罪。不过，所有这些理论都不是定论，并且都容易遭到批评。
社会结构的变化可能会间接地影响青少年犯罪率。例如，经济变化通常导致年轻人就业机会减少和失业率上升，这使得找到赚钱的工作愈加困难。由此产生的不满就可能转而使越来越多的年轻人犯罪。
家庭在这些年也经历了变化。单亲家庭或双职工家庭越来越多。这样一来，儿童在家里所受到的监护就可能比过去的传统家庭普遍要少。人们认为缺乏父母管教是影响青少年犯罪率的一个因素。其他可被确认的实施犯罪行为的原因还有学习受挫和考试不及格，毒品和酒越来越容易得到，以及儿童受虐待和得不到关怀的事件日益增多。所有这些情况往往都会增加儿童犯罪的可能性，虽然对于造成青少年犯罪的直接原因目前尚无定论。
